How to Determine Density?
To obtain the cubic dimensions of a shipment measure length, width and height. Next multiply the length, width and height to obtain the cubic dimensions inches.
Length 2 Meters, Width 2 Meters, Height 2.2 Meters
2 x 2 x 2.2 = 8.8 cubic Meters
To convert cubic Centimeters to cubic Meters, divide the cubic inches by 1 Milion (the number of a cubic Centimeter in a cubic Meters).
1500000 / 1000000 = 1.5 CBM
To determine density, divide the weight of the shipment by the number of cubic Meters.
8000 KG/ 5.35 CBM = 1495 KG per cubic CBM.
Chargeable weight in volumic cargo by Air is calculated based on the following basis
(Length in CM x Width in CM x Height in CM)/6000
Package 120 CM Long/Width 100 CM/ Height 80 CM
(120 x 100 x 80)/6000= 160 KG volume weight, if package Gross weight is more
then charges are on the gross weight otherwise charges are based on the volume weight
